Request for Information on Stearman C-3

Member Leonard Kohn sent the following request:

Back in 1993 I was in contact with an OLAF ABRAHAMSEN, a retired PAA captain, during my research into the history of the last Stearman C-3 built. That plane was NC-566Y based at Floyd Bennett field during the 1938-1942 time period. It had "Gold Bullet" painted on the fuselage. It showed up in the background of a couple of photos I took. While learning to fly at Raynolds Field, Valhalla, NY in 1940 I took a Kodachrome 8MM movie of it landing and taxiing. Olaf Abrahamsen was the pilot that day and from conversing with him, I am sure he was well known around Floyd Bennett, as was the Stearman. I am sure there are members of the LIEFC who can provide more detailed information about the plane and Olaf. I am sorry to say that Olaf passed away before I could meet with him personally and obtain the information I would like to add to my research on the plane, which by the way, is still around, the Florida area registered as NC566Z.
